Introduction to needle (dry)-felting

Adult Workshop: Come and express your creative artistic self with this new way of working with carded, naturally-dyed wool fleece. Using a special barbed needle and colored fleece, we will learn basic needle-felting techniques to create pictorial pieces (like painting from a palette of colors) and sculptural pieces (jewelry, dolls, toys, animals, magical creatures, etc.) Also, we will discover some of the broad range of needle-felting applications, from decorating items of clothing and wool crafts to creating unique craft items and artistic pieces. Perfect for creating novelty items and uniquely personal gifts.

Children's Classes: Ages 9+
Needle-felting is a good rainy day activity, perfect for making simple but tasteful gifts, decorations, and novelty items. Using a long, barbed needle, and colored wool fleece, students learn the basics of needle-felting, and felt simple projects to be made into jewelry (necklaces, pins, ear rings)and/or objects of interest, such as animals, flowers, fantasy creatures. Then we will learn to make a doll or animal using pipe cleaners for the form.

Knitting and Spinning

Fun Knits offers 2 knitting and or spinning all – inclusive retreats in April and Oct each year. Most of the retreats are 2 days but certain special guests require 3 days. We stay at TsaKwaLuten lodge on the south end of Quadra Island. The accommodations are great and the food is fantastic. It is a great get away with other fellow knitters. PRICE $450 - $595 (2 or 3 night) includes everything (all meals, yarn and patterns for projects) and is based on triple occupancy – double and single rooms are available for extra.

Stained Glass Mosaic

In the beginner's mosaic class you will create a beautiful piece of art using stained glass.  Different cutting techniques will be taught as well as grouting.  Playing with broken glass is very gratifying, and once you're done you'll want to mosaic almost everything!  Custom classes are available.
