Q Cove is the main commercial and residential centre on Quadra Island. It is located at the south west part of the island across Discovery Passage from Campbell River. The hourly ferry service to and from Campbell River, leaves from the terminal in Quathiaski Cove. All traffic coming and going from Quadra and even nearby Cortes Island passes through 'the Cove' so it is often a hive of activity.
All main services are available in Quathiaski Cove including, groceries, liquor, post office, gas, propane, video rentals, pharmacy, banking, office & art supplies, art galleries, marine and auto mechanics, good coffee, camping supplies, hair stylists, an Elementary School, the nearby Community Centre, childcare, hardware store and of course a pub.
Accommodation is readily available in and around Q-Cove. There are several cafés in the Cove popular with locals and visitors alike. The essentials and the eclectic are all available in the colourful shops lining the Q-Cove Plaza. Whatever you're looking for you'll find it, along with a few surprises.
During the summers on Saturday mornings the weekly Quadra Island Farmers' Market takes place with arts, crafts, flowers, great food and sometimes kittens available.
The main social centre of the island (apart form the grocery stores!), is the Quadra Island Community Centre which is located a few kilometres north along West Road on the way to Heriot Bay. The hall hosts everything from concertos to garage sales. Check the Quadra Rec program and local publications for current events.
